We love our "LIKEaBIKE Jumper" but unfortunately we always had to go to a bike shop to fill air using their compressor, because none of our pumps was small enough to fit between the spokes to attach to the valve. Two bike shops here in America had no pump in stock, which would fit that little walking bike. No luck with pumps from Walmart either. Finally a German LIKEaBIKE retailer recommended a model and I was glad to find a picture of a pump on Amazon, which just looked like the recommended one. Hoping it would be the same we ordered it. The received pump is called "Pocket Alum Mini Pump #GP-04A", and is exactly what I was looking for. I just inflated the "Jumper" and am really happy with the pump.Here is why: It has a lever to keep the pump valve attached to the tire valve and even that is small enough to use with the "Jumper" It feels very sturdy The pump... You need to have muscles if you use this thing. I found it difficult to take on or off the first time around. And it is difficult to determine whether or not you've gone far enough on the nipple or not as there is not necessarily a swoosh of air since the seal is usually tight.The gauge on this thing (I got this off of ebay, btw, not amazon), isn't easy to read and not as accurate as most bike gauges because of the design (red needle somewhere between 50 and 60 psi over a small area, for example).. Out of the box, the thing was configure to use schraeder tires which I have. I found it impossible to untwist the thing with bare hands and had to use a vise clamp. It is good, however, on tires with no pressure. If you have a flat and need to use a new tire for whatever reason (because no patches are available or the patches aren't working), then this is a good thing to have around, unlike dual head... At first I was skeptical - it's really lightweight, but it works great and stores away easily in a tool cupboard! I'm so glad I decided on this pump, I really did not want to buy a full size floor pump and so far I haven't. |
