Doesn't take up as much space as expected. VERY well made. Carries a good run time on a charge. Indicator light gives you plenty of notice before light will die. I like this feature. I have only used this light twice; for my 20 mile commute on very dark country paved roads on moonless nights. I found the light to be outstanding for road riding. I was very comfortable even at 25-30 mph on downhills. In fact there was enough light for my friend to ride along side (he had forgotten his headlight!!!).My friend's one "complaint" was that when I was riding behind him (the next day when he did have his light!), he had a harder time knowing when cars were coming from behind. He said that my light sent enough light past him that he wouldn't notice as much when the headlights from a car coming from the rear illuminated the road. Hmmm...unexpected consequence of having a bright headlight. :) Cars would dim their brights for us also, which was VERY nice. I love the quick release. Also it comes with a adaptor to charge directly from a wall outlet, in addition to charging from a computer USB. (Misc.) I use this primarily for night time mountain biking. I have it mounted on my helmet. As the title indicates, it's great for a supplemental light. I tried it the first night as my only light and although it wasn't quite bright enough for my taste, I was able to survive with it. I use it with my handlebar mounted HID light and it's a great combination. At $100 or so, it makes a lot of sense to use this in a dual light situation.I don't know how long the charge would last, but I've used it on a 2 hour ride and it stayed bright. I've also used it as a regular flashlight and it's great for that (wouldn't spend $100 for a flashlight, but I already have it) Pros: Easy USB charger, helmet mount pretty quick and flexible, price, rugged construction, adjustable angle, different light levels. Cons: A bit heavy for helmet. |
