They have a strong aluminum tube under the surface so they hold there form and shape no matter how much you crank on them, and the grip clamps at both end of the grip ensure that they will stay in place on your bars even under the most stressful conditions. The grip surface holds your hand like a vice, yet is very comfortable, and gives you the most confident feeling that your hands will stay on the grips. They also look outstanding. The picture does not do them justice. An added benefit of the design is that since the end clamps do all of the work holding them on your bars, they just slip right on the bar with very little effort. The clamps attach to the grips before installing them on the bar, and those can be difficult to install because they fit tight. Just follow the instructions of hooking one end and then PULLING the other side down onto the grip...
