I wanted a mini u-lock, and this is quite small. I didn't want the Kryptonite Evo Mini, because of the bent foot design. I want a lock that's ambidextrous on both sides. This lock, both the key and the U part can go in either way. I don't want to futz with a bent foot lock, especially in Minnesota, where you have to wear big mitts in the winter, which lasts like 8 months. I like the finish of the lock, kind of hard, kind of soft. Definitely not rubbery like my last crappy Onguard Bulldog mini, where the rubber came off right away, and the lock would occasionally fall to pieces. For real, pieces. So I ruled out Onguard and Krytptonite, and saw the Abus. The key enters with a satisfying click, turns with a satisfying click, and locks with the same click. Really, it is satisfying. Seems to be well made and well engineered. It's expensive, which is the only drawback, but so is buying a new bike when your poorly secured one gets stolen. I hope this lock lasts and can...
