It's only for smaller diameter flashlight barrels (1", but 1.5" would fit, too), of which there are plenty of flashlight choices, especially with the move to LED lights. The part the flashlight rests on is flexible rubber, not plastic, so don't worry about it not being able to accomodate a slightly large or non-uniform flashlight barrel. They may or may not be bright enough and tend to be bulky or have lousy mounting solutions. Good bike lights ($45 and up) are out of my current budget so I got a couple of TwoFish blocks from Amazon and a pair of cheap LED flashlights at Harbor Freight and I'm a pig in slop. I like the small-ness, the versatility, not being tied to a specific light and the ease of moving the bracket from one bike to another. I like having the pair, but if my wife needs one we just move one to her bike. Here are a few other details:- I commute on lighted but not busy streets, so my main imperative is being seen, not lighting a dark path. - The cheap flashlights are fine but I hope to upgrade to Fenixes when I have the budget. - Like some other reviewers, I'm using 3xAAA lights, which are a little wider than the flashlight side of the block. I have bought three TwoFish flashlite holders. I had to wrap some used bike tubes around the flashlight and also around the bike bars to increase friction. With the extra friction, the TwoFish Flashlite Holders hold all my three lights very tight. Bumpy road, not a problem at all! I am very satisfied with the product! |
