In my opinion it gives better readings when used inside a shoe designed for e.g. Adidas miCoach. However, Suunto does not guarantee that it will not brake when used inside a shoe. It also loses connection to the t6d every now and then when used inside a shoe.Despite this I will give it a four star rating. Because once you get it calibrated it's very accurate. I have three different calibrations (road triathlon, training trail shoes, racing trail shoes) and, depending on what race I'm doing and what shoes I'm using, all I do is take 30 seconds and change the calibration. Works great, very accurate, weighs next to nothing, pairs IMMEDIATELY when I start running without me having to do anything. I really like the foot pod mini and was amazed at how easy it is to setup. These type of devices can sometimes be difficult to setup but the videos from Suunto are very helpful and are available online at their site and on YouTube. Pairing with the T3d was a piece of cake, as was calibration. Starting a run and measuring heart rate (with the Dual Band strap) and now speed and distance (with the Foot Pod Mini) is almost automatic - you hit one button. Cycling through pace, max speed, distance, etc is also very easy, again, through the use of one button. I had been reluctant to spend the money on this because I did not know how well it would work. I wish I had purchased this when I initially bought the T3d HRM watch. The watch and foot pod compliment each other nicely and give me the information I am interested in to make my running more fun and to help me become a better performing runner. |
