I got this as a do-everything tool that would replace the separate mini-tool and tire levers I carry, plus add a chain tool. It does, but it is considerably larger and heavier than the IB-1 and larger than the IB-2 (which adds a T-25 Torx wrench, which is unnecessary for a road bike). So the question is whether carrying a chain tool is worth it to you, and for me, although I like the idea of having a chain tool, I've never actually broken a chain after thousands of miles of riding. (And if you are a Shimano person and don't carry an extra pin, having a chain tool is useless.) I do like the Park mini-tools; this one just may be more tool than is necessary to carry IF you maintin your bike well.

3.0 out of 5 stars No Phillips?, June 11, 2009

It's commendable a tire lever & chain breaker are included, which gives it an extra star; but I see no reason why a Phillips bit was not included considering the fact deraileurs are adjusted solely by a Phillips. A complete set of hex bits is overkill if a major bit, such as a Phillips, is left out. A bike generally only requires three hex bits, not six or seven as this has.
RE-traction!: Apparently the screws on Derailleurs are compatable with a flathead screwdriver, as supplied on this tool, as well. Mr. Magoo here always reached for a Phillips when adjusting derailleurs. However I did try Crank Bros. Phillips on the '19' bike tool and the fit to the screws are better. But ironically their flathead is too wide for the derailleur screws and the other flathead too small. But Park knew what they were doing and I don't want them peeved at me for any mis-information. A person should carry a multiplier as well which generally has a Phillips head in case he/she has any cable problems... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good., October 22, 2011
I do road and mountain riding and I have used this thing quite often and haven't had the need for anything else. Unlike other reviewers, I haven't had the desire to do derailleur adjustments on the road or trail, but those screws turn so easily when there's no tension on them, the flat head should be fine. Before purchasing I verified this tool had everything I needed to do emergency repairs to MY bikes, but I didn't have a 9mm wrench to help a friend out. Another friend had one thankfully as we were still 10 miles away from civilization. The tire lever is weak. It would work fine for my road bike, but definitely not for my tubeless mountain tires.
