Bought several of these for a bicycling trip on Cape Cod near P'town. We used these to secure our bikes to the racks provided at the seashore and to whatever we found around town. Our bikes were still there each time we used them. Haven't used it in a city environment yet to see how it fares there.This is the short u-lock which is supposed to be more difficult to cut, especially when used as recommended on websites advising how to lock your bike. We followed their advice of putting the bolt through the rear triangle of the frame and the front part of the rear wheel. We threaded the cable onto one bar of the lock, through the rack and back to the lock. If you had a 7' cable, you could include the front wheel and seat as well if your seat support is open enough to allow the cable loop to slip through.
