USE COMMON SENSE, PEOPLE! For what it was intended to do (secure quick release components, bike seat, wheels, etc.) it does a great job. I didn't need a cable that was so long, just long enough to wrap my two wheels around the pole and u-lock. Thus, I ordered the 4 foot cable thinking it would be good enough. When I got the cable though, it is only long enough to wrap around one wheel and then to the u-lock. I can't stretch it enough to wrap around the second wheel or the pole for that matter. If I could order all over again, I would probably get the six foot cable. I can say that even though the cable is 4 feet, it is solid and looks pretty strong. Yes you are relying it all on one U-lock, but with a good one, that's usually enough. If you want both your seat and your wheel, get the 7ft version. Yes you can cut these cables with a good set of cable cutters, one strand a time. And Amazon sells these cutters. But if all it gets the thief is just the wheel or your seat, chances are they will move to bike which is only locked with a cable and take all of it. Darwin'ian? yes, but everything can be broken given enough time and tools. The key is to make your bike less easy than everyone else's, without weighing your bike down so much that you might as well have bought a Wal-mart special and not bothered with the lock at all.Focus on...
