It's not that this one doesn't work at all, but the way it works is a bit "out of control" for me.You turn-on the flow of CO2 by unscrewing a little bit. That's fine, but rather than have an actuator that pushes on the valve in the stem to make an open path into the tire, this unit relies on building up high pressure to force the valve open. So even though you unscrew it slowly to release the CO2, no CO2 goes into the tire at first. The pressure builds, and builds, until finally, the pressure is so high that it blasts CO2 into the tire. In the typical air pump, there is an actuator inside the filler nozzle that presses in the center of the tire stem, opening the tire valve, to allow air in without having to build up such high pressure. The way this works is probably fine for most typical uses, but I'd like to have more control than what this unit offers. I'm probably... It also holds the extra CO2 if you do not need to use the whole canister. I had a slow leak and I was able to use the same canister a few times before it ran out. It's very easy to use. With 700x23 tires, you will never get enough air in the tire without one of these, the hand pumps just do not let you put 110 psi into the tire. |
